And did they Photoshop out the famous freckles? Or is that a metaphor for everything I am completely naked except for the face (clearly thinking too much here).
I had the same reaction to the cover as when tuning into now 3 year old (?) Sex Rehab for the first time. Omg….she’s just a girl! (in a good human way…a real person).
Congratulations. First time commenting. I just wanted to say your blog helped me out in so many ways, and inspired me to start my own. I’m glad things are turning up Milhouse for you!
I’m going to have to get a copy when it comes out!
“Soft you now, the fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons, be all my sins remember’d.” (Hamlet, III, I) I would love to see you post a side-by-side of your first day in rehab and this cover. Wow. Recovery is breathtaking…

When is the book coming out? I can’t wait to read it. I’ve been fascinated/attracted to you ever since I accidentally clicked on an e-mail and saw you as “Dolly”. You’ve been through so much in your life that I’m certain your book will be an entertaining and informative. Think you’re great.
Amazing… I can’t wait to read it even though following this from the beginning makes me feel like I already know you. You are an amazing woman and have come so far 🙂 thanks for sharing your life with us, you have made me seek healing and shown me that even though you hit rock bottom, there is always a way up… One day at a time 🙂
Congrats! I’m looking very forward to reading the book, but I’m curious…was the cover your idea or the publisher’s? Are you concerned that being naked on the cover could make it easier for some to write you off as just another “porn whore” who decided to write a book?
Terrific cover image. Both simple and complex at the same time.
It’s arresting as an image, but with the title and subtitle one has to re-evaluate what we’re seeing.
Exposed, not naked. Real, not idealized. Revealed, yet guarded. Young, yet almost uncomfortably mature and grounded.
Really impressive! All the very best wishes for this book. I’m certain it will have more impact than you’ll ever know!
Dear Jennie—Looks great! I am very happy for you. It must really be something to realize your dream(s). Make sure to be grateful and say thanks to you know who. Very excited to read it. It took and continues to take a lot of courage to do what you do. I know you will continue to be successful if you don’t get distracted and stay focused on helping others as you have done here. Much love and respect.
Congratulations Jennie. I have pre-ordered through Amazon.uk and am looking forward to reading your book. It must be great to finally see the finished article after all the sweat and tears you have put into it.
Jennie, I’m a bit curious. Assuming the cover picture was taken for the book, How did it feel to be posing for that as opposed to how you felt when posing for pics back in your old career?
Jennie, I had a similar question to Craig. Are you interested in commenting more on the direction for the cover? Do you expect that people will ask you about it in interviews? It’s a bold choice to introduce and frame your story, one that people might interpret in a way different than you intend. The choice of the red accent light is a strong statement and appears like a nod to your past. There’s an interesting tension there.
You of course look lovely. I was just, I don’t know expecting something less salacious, not that this is obscene or indecent. Your eyes do have an alluring quality to them. I guess I was hoping for maybe one of your paintings to grace the first cover. I’m really looking forward to what’s behind that dust jacket though. Have a beautiful day dear lady.
I’ve been following and marveling at your recovery process almost from day one. It’s truly astounding how far you’ve come in such a relatively short time. You’re an inspiration to me and many, many others. Congratulations! May you continue to grow and blossom into the person you were meant to be.
Congratulations! Was it the publisher, however, who might’ve suggested the use of a cover photo from your days in the adult film industry? And nice to see a foreward from Dr. Drew. Hope you’ll appear as a guest on his HLN show to discuss the book and other things.
Wow. Not what I expected for the cover, but I’m very impressed. You’re still the most interesting person I’ve encountered on the Web. Looking forward to reading it.

The Penny Flame “art” is still out there and there is plenty of it to go around, and a hell of a lot of us are ‘fans’ of it but this is Jennie Ketchum “former pornstar” (yes a title she’s going to live with for the rest of her life) so Tommy I get what you are saying, she looks amazing, she really does, and people are going to see this cover and judge her book (and her life now) as “Why is she topless if she’s done with porn?” But this space, Jennie’s blog, just isn’t the space for stinging sarcasm (maliciously intended or not). Does that mean any preorderd copy? (I am in the UK and preordered a copy a while back via Amazon UK).
I have this mental image of you sitting at the end of the printer production line with pen in hand, signing like fury as they roll towards you.
What is it with autographs by the way? What is the attraction to having something signed? I have wondered about this before, and it strikes me as a strange custom, and maybe even a little predatory.
It’s as if you take a piece of the person, that then belongs to you. (Cannibalistic?)
Or maybe less sinister and a bit like in the middle ages, a king would ‘touch’ the ailing poor, and they would think themselves cured, or possessing a holy relic would get you nearer to god.
