First piece on sketch…. Exploding roses…
I’m trying to decide what to call the series. Any ideas?
First off the top of my head is “Naturally Chaotic”
feels kind of lame though. Thoughts?

Yeah, agree that it’s kind of lame. Can’t think of anything better. LOVE the pic though.
How about, “Ruptured Rose”.
Have a glorious day.
I am suggesting the following:
Nature’s Chaotic Behavior
Unleashing of Nature’s Chaos
Nature’s Philosophy of Chaos
Perhaps you could take something from Immanuel Kant:
“God has put a secret art into the forces of Nature so as to enable it to fashion itself out of chaos into a perfect world system.” –Immanuel Kant
The Flower Suicides
Naturally Chaotic works for me, looks like they just well as you said, Exploded.
Arthur J. Sentelle
Aaachooo! Don’t they know we are allergic to humans????
Perhaps it says more about me than the art, but I was immediately struck with an impressioin of violence. The fact I’m looking at something natural like a flower is lost.
Please accept this with the kindness with which it is offered. I admire very much all you’re doing.
I like the first one with the darks and greens at the bottom and the cyans at the top; I want to run an hide for the yellow and red exploding tree,; , and the exploding roses makes me hear my father in the back of my mind say “Grow Up!” ???
title: ” Life vs.”
Fulminating Flora (Sorry I spend way too much time at the library)
It looks gory and violent. My initial thought was it looked like a crime scene photo. Maybe the title could be related to that?
Jen, “Chaos” is one of my favorite words. Having said that, I really like “Chaotic Order.” I have studied (primarily biology/botany etc) and one of the most wonderful observations is how order (plants included) has originated from chaos. Anyway, you said suggestions 🙂 I would like to purchase some of this. How do I go about it?
This artwork is amazing.
If Naturally Chaotic is what came to you, that might be the name of the series 🙂 It isn’t lame.
Makes me think of blood red. Something blood red that makes me think of sad. It’s like I blew the brains out of a rose.
Coool pictures! I’m happy about you’re college. I’m in college too. *high five for awesome!
What about wind blown or wherever it will take me (referring to the wind blown look).

My life in paintings
WHat about Ka-bloom!
Even more lame “The Blossoming.” or “Chaotic Blossoming”
or “A Natural Chaos” or call it “Thorns.”
Or shot in the dark here…”Roses, Full Bloom”
Oh, and BTW that is pretty awesome. Who’d have thought of making roses blossoms that way? Maybe you could also try your hand at dandelions? I love dandelions, they seemed magical when I was little.
How about “Kabloom”?
I like this picture alot, actually. Very well done!
Maybe “Absence of Chaos”, being that what we are seeing may not be not Chaotic at all.
Still Life Explosions?
If you’re doing commisions Jen, I would definately like an Orchid
I cannot think of a more fitting name, actually…and I looked at this for a good solid 20 minutes. It is natural…and the Pollock-esque form of it is a bit chaotic. One thing that I don’t think that people realize is that beauty can come from chaos. It’s true in our own lives. I think, Jennie, in a way, this is or can be an example of you. Looking back at then, and then looking forward at now and the future, the chaos that you went through is ultimately blooming into beauty. Hmmm…perhaps Chaotic Beauty?
I really like the name “Naturally chaotic”. It feels like it would be the lyrics to a song. When I first read it, the name really caught my eye cuz it sounds so interesting. it will draw people in, make them want to find out more about what your collection is about. haha I keep repeating it over in my head because im trying to envision it, but your artwork portrays the name really well. Being an artist myself i know its really hard to think of a title. you want it to be perfect and really portray the piece. It sounds original and I think using a name you thought of will make it fully your creation which you brought into this world, which is my favorite feeling when i finish a piece of artwork. Good luck!
Idk my mind goes to the love element of roses, so I thought destructive love, or imploding. Just imploding since art works on so many layers.
I like it though.
It’s something soft and beautiful, smells good, but is full of pricks – and it seems to be exploding blood. But even Freud would have to admit that, sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar, after all. How about “The Denouement of Tumescence”? Could this be a way to slay all those quasi-anonymous erections encounted in the adult industry? God, I’m sorry, Jennie, that was a bit over the top.
that’s dictionary.com’s word of the day!!! occlude!!! yay! hahahah
I love the title Naturally Chaotic. It’s not lame at all!
I like your idea. I say if you feel it, go for it. The paintings will grow into the name because both came from within. (if that makes sense.)
my only thought: Chaos in Bloom.
* as a side note, I have to say how much I relate to what you’ve expressed and I watched the show too. I realize I am a sex addict and I’m not sure how to process it all, but I am so inspired by yours and Nicole Narain’s stories and journey. You are both incredibly human and incredibly strong women inspite of it all. This is my perverbial hug and rally of support for what you have and continue to overcome on such a public scale.
Bravo Jennie, keep up the hard but rewarding work. You are your own best protege’… never give up! 🙂
“The Passion of Flowers”
that paint remind me when i used to play Mortal Kombat series as kid. lol!
i like naturally chaotic.

They look like poppy’s.
In the WW1 lots of soldiers died in poppy fields in France. It feels like a good picture to reflect this time. How about “Remember us”…
You already have a *great* title: “Roses, Full Bloom”. It’s perfect.
Just read your story on A3Addictions web-site. Two of my favorite lines are.
“I trust in the program of recovery, and have learned how to treat myself like the precious young woman I am.”
“I have become a woman of grace and integrity”
The whole self-esteem thing is a slippery slope, the farther you slide the harder it is to know where and what normal should be. You just needed to believe that you are worthy of, and deserved better of yourself and others You just needed to believe it, believe that you were capable of it. You are and have always been a woman of grace and integrity. I am so happy you have come to the realization that the young lady you see in the mirror is precious and deserving of a life filled with love and happiness.
chaos by any other name

My Love Explodes!
(Roses symbolize love )
I suppose a Freudian thinker might find it a sexual reference however.
I intend to invest in your art…promise.
Chaotic Heart or hearts…either way, it comes from the heart the ground zero of all your emotions, torment, and happyness.

Passion. Because roses as a symbol of love are just too contained and ordered

I think its looks pretty cool keep upthe good work girl 😉

“Valentines firing squad”?
July 27, 2010

Jennie, it’s good to see you’re doing well (congrats on your grades in school =D).
To answer your question regarding what to call the series? “Controlled Entropy” comes to mind, or something along those lines.
In your pictures you have a stable piece such as the stem/thorns, a solid tree truck, and a road. Then the other part is moving toward chaos as you suggest, such as the disintegrating/bleeding rose, exploding sky, and evaporating leaves.
Just my two cents, lovely pictures regardless of the names =).

Yeesh, forget all the “chaotic” garbage. So brutally obvious. And yes – lame. And boring.
I like “Wind”, in Sean’s vein (above). Lamar’s “Malaise” is nice too.
Or what the hell, let’s go with “It’s A Rose But The Petals Aren’t Like A Regular Rose, They Look Like Blood”. Catchy.
